Converting a container for a festival or brand activation

A container can become a temporary branded space, welcome point or product presentation at an event. Total Concept converts containers, fits out their interiors and installs them on location. Turn the intended use into a layout

Identify the number of staff, the equipment they need and the way visitors approach the container. A service counter requires different working zones from a private meeting space. Allow for storage, movement behind the counter and clear branding. If you already have a container, provide dimensions and photographs; otherwise, discuss the base unit required for the project.

Openings, interiors and external finishes

Doors, hatches and other alterations affect the container structure. Their feasibility needs to be agreed before production. Interior linings, furniture, lighting and signage should also be designed together. For outdoor use, discuss exposure to rain, sun and wind and the protection required by the selected finishes. Any structural assessment and organiser requirements belong in the preparation stage.

Transport and installation at the venue

A position on the site plan is only part of the brief. Share the access route, manoeuvring space, ground conditions, delivery windows and local contact. Agree who arranges transport, lifting equipment, utility connections and any permits. This makes responsibilities and dependencies clear before the container leaves for the event.

One event or a programme of locations?

For repeat use, transport, assembly and replaceable branding need to influence the design. Agree how dismantling, storage and repairs between events will be handled. A different location may require different connections or alterations, so include the complete programme in the discussion.
