Restaurant fit-out: from interior concept to installation

A restaurant interior should express your concept while supporting the daily work of guests and staff. Total Concept designs and builds interiors, including restaurant fit-outs. We turn ideas into layouts, bespoke elements and finishes suited to the space and its use. Preparation starts with a clear understanding of your hospitality concept and the existing venue.

Plan movement before selecting furniture

Where do guests arrive and wait, and how do staff move through the restaurant? Define the relationship between seating, the bar, circulation and storage before selecting individual pieces. Explain which existing elements should stay and where the current layout causes difficulties. A measured floor plan and photographs make this discussion more useful.

Bespoke elements and finishes

A reception unit, wall treatment or a bespoke element around an existing function can form part of the interior. Discuss the appearance, intended use and finish of each item. Cleaning, touch, moisture and wear all influence material selection in a restaurant. The appropriate finish depends on its application; discuss maintenance and any venue requirements before production.

Coordinate the interior with technical services

Lighting, power outlets, ventilation and existing equipment affect the available options. Identify current connections and planned technical work early. Agree which items Total Concept delivers and which belong to other parties. Fitting out the interior does not automatically mean that kitchen equipment and every technical installation are included in the same commission.

Organise the installation around the venue

Explain when the space will be available and whether the restaurant will remain partly open during the work. Deliveries, access, protection of existing elements and the installation sequence need to reflect those constraints. Coordination with other contractors also matters. An opening date is a key input; a realistic programme depends on the defined scope.

Prepare a restaurant interior brief

Share your concept, reference images, floor plan, intended opening date and budget indication. Explore our interior design and fit-out service. For a temporary hospitality space, see our guide to festival builds and hospitality installations. We can then discuss the design and construction steps needed for your project.
